Nice view and a little hiking.
This park is small, but there is a picnic area by the river with benches. In early spring, thousands of Azalias bloom. Free parking.
Small park with geese year-round and a playground with swings, slides and a basketball court. There is a covered area with grills for barbecues. My family and I like to sit by the water and listen to it as we watch the geese paddle by. Watch out for goose poop though! It's present year-round too!
Closed for two years from June 2017 to June 2019 for renovations.
4月中下旬到5月上旬是华府地区杜鹃花（Azalea）开放的季节，Brighton Dam是水库大坝，这片公园不知什么原因不能进入，要穿过马路到大坝上游的花园，然后下到湖边。刚看过国家植物园的杜鹃花，对比之下，这里面积更大，花开的更加狂野和灿烂。在春季坐在水边，背后就是杜鹃花，还可以在水边用石片打水漂。一定要在杜鹃花开的季节来，是喜欢拍花朋友的好去处。
As of 1 June 2017, the park is closed for work on the dam. Note, you must get a permit to use this park. This park is owned by the Washington Surburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC), but technically isn't a public park, at least according to the WSSC web site. When the park is open, or use of any of WSSC parks on the Patuxent watershed, you must purchase a permit. I planned to fly my remotely piloted aircraft here, but there was a sign posted saying no drones. The website does not list that as a rule, however.
